For more than 15 years, Unisensor has been developing rapid tests for the analysis of food products. Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites producted by fungi under favorable climatic conditions. Their occurence in cereals and animal feed has become an important public health problem.
Mycotoxins present immunotoxic, carcinogenic and hepatotoxic characteristics making them highly dangerous when consumed at higher levels than legal limits established by the European Union. The increasing occurence of mycotoxins in cereal based products raises the need for adapted screening tools.
