Ref : KIT105

Rapid test detecting Macrolide and Lincosamide antibiotics in milk

About

Macrolides and lincosamides are important antibacterials for the treatment of many common infections in cattle and pigs. These compounds in combination with other antimicrobials are commonly used worldwide. Most recently approved injectable macrolides have very long elimination half-lives in both pigs and cattle.

Using antibiotics for non-therapeutic purposes has led to the development of antibiotic resistant (AR) bacteria, which have infiltrated our food system and pose a major risk to human health.

The legal standards require that milk contain no detectable antibiotics when analyzed using approved test methods.

Moreover, the presence of antibiotics in milk inhibits dairy microorganisms and cause economic losses to the cheese and fermented milk industries.

Benefits

MilkSensor LTSE (KIT105) can detect Lincomycin, Clindamycin, Tylosin A & B, Spiramycin, Neospiramycin and Erythromycin.
